Managing the Lake Tahoe Basin´s resources requires the involvement
of numerous agencies operating at the federal, state and local
level. Many different science, planning, and management initiatives
exist to address various aspects of the Lake´s restoration.
Some of these are collaborative between agencies while others

Through the Pathway 2007 initiative, these agencies
are working together to align environmental goals, develop an

supported and implemented, and further interagency trust and
understanding. Planning initiatives addressed by Pathway
2007 include:
Each of these efforts is being undertaken using an adaptive
management framework based on recommendations from the comprehensive
Lake Tahoe Watershed Assessment, completed in 2000.
Adaptive management is a concept that will allow for learning
