Citizen monitoring programs in the Lake Tahoe Region include:
- Snapshot Day is a yearly water
quality monitoring day that collects water quality data from
all 63 tributaries that flow into Lake Tahoe. The project
extends to the Truckee River and Fallen Leaf Lake.
- Incline Village Clean Water Team is a monthly stream monitoring
group that collects water quality data from several creeks in Incline Village.
- Truckee River Aquatic Monitors is a summer stream
monitoring group that collects insect samples and water quality
data at five streams.
Citizen restoration programs in the Lake Tahoe Region include:
- Tahoe Basin Weed Coordinating Group is a year-round restoration
group that maps weed infestations and uproots invasive weed species.
- Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day is a yearly forest restoration day
that recently has focused on re-seeding and re-vegetating the Gondola Fire
at Heavenly ski resort.
